Dr. MIKE GUSTAFSON

Mike has served as the President & CEO of the College Baseball Foundation since June of 2009. His connection to baseball goes back to his playing career first on consecutive state tournament teams in 1984 and 1985 under legendary high school baseball coach Bobby Moegle at Lubbock Monterey High School. He later attended Texas Tech and played baseball from 1986-89. In 1989, he was Texas Tech's Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year as part of the Southwest Conference's 75th-anniversary festivities. After graduating from Texas Tech, Mike attended the University of Texas and obtained an M.Ed in Sports Management and in 2005 he earned his Ed.D. at Texas Tech in Higher Education Administration.

Mike has filled roles at Texas Tech, the Texas Tech Alumni Association, and in Texas Tech Athletics. He is currently a fixture as the Color Analyst on the Texas Tech Baseball radio or ESPN+ television broadcasts. Mike's wife, Dana, is now building new programs at Lubbock Coronado High School after serving for many years as a middle school science teacher in Lubbock ISD. They have two children, Brooks and Savannah. Brooks served as the bullpen catcher for Texas Tech Baseball from 2013-2017 and now works for the university and Savannah is currently a graduate student at Texas Tech.
