RANDY ROSETTA
Randy has covered high school & college athletics for most of the last 30 years. A graduate of the University of Kansas, he recently returned to Lubbock after a 14-year detour to Baton Rouge, Louisiana. His primary focus from 2004-2016 was as a beat writer covering LSU athletics for a variety of media outlets. Before departing for Louisiana, his family called West Texas home from 1997-2004, with a six-year stint at the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal where he split time covering high school sports and Texas Tech Athletics.
Upon returning home, Randy transitioned to covering prep sports and rekindled a passion for telling the stories of high school athletes. Randy is also the Site Publisher of Hub City Preps and covers high school athletes and programs across Lubbock. For his work on Hub City Preps, Randy was named the 2019-2020 Texas High School Coaches Association Region 1 Sportswriter of the Year.
Randy's wife Jenny is a teacher in Lubbock ISD where she was the 2019-2020 Elementary Teacher of the Year. They have two daughters, Mallory and Darby. Mallory is currently an Editor for The Daily Toreador at Texas Tech.
