RECRUITING
Recruiting is the lifeblood of every collegiate athletics program and Texas Tech Baseball has made waves nationally since Tim Tadlock's arrival as Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator on Dan Spencer's staff in 2012. Now, J-Bob Thomas is Texas Tech's Recruiting Coordinator and his impressive successes and ongoing efforts earned him the 2017 Assistant Coach of the Year award from Baseball America.
For those less familiar with recruiting in collegiate baseball understand there are significant differences between this process and that of college football. From the perspective of the observer, the most significant difference is that commitments don't often change. While football recruits often decommit and are at times a mystery even to signing day, in college baseball commits are solid. Schools do not continue pursuing a committed athlete. The 2020 recruiting cycle has been an exception to many of these rules, with so much upheaval in the NCAA and the MLB due to COVID-19, there has been more movement than normal.
We'll keep you up-to-date about Texas Tech's incoming recruiting classes, JUCO transfers, and other player movement as it comes. You can find recruiting posts below and a recruiting counter for the future classes headed our way.
